Hello again Affiliate:

Here's that quick note that I promised at the end of
my last blog post a couple of days ago.

I have finally decided to try out one of these new
"social networking" services to see how it goes.
This is one of the top ones; it's called Twitter.

Starting now, I will be making short posts of writing
related info to my Twitter page on a regular basis.
These posts will be very short one-liners, usually
With a link to some resource that I recommend.

I expect to be making 2 to 3 of these posts per week.

DON'T WORRY, I will still be making my once monthly
blog posts as well.

These Twitter posts will be short and sweet one-liners.

If you would like to receive my Twitter announcements
in your inbox (or via your mobile phone) just go to my
Twitter page at the following link:

http://twitter.com/ShaunFawcett

If you are already signed up with Twitter you will know
what to do from this point on.

If you are new to Twitter, follow the following steps:

1. Click on the "Join Today" link on the upper right corner
of that page and you will go through a simple one-time
sign-up process.

2. Once you are signed up you should be automatically routed
to my personal Twitter page. To Follow Me (i.e. to receive
my Twitter posts) MAKE SURE you click on the little Gray
"Follow" link right underneath my ID photo.

Affiliate: Why not join me in this Twitter social
networking experiment? If you change your mind later you
can always very quickly unsubscribe at your Twitter page
whenever you like.

In the meantime, I am going to try to post all kinds of
useful writing help info and links on my Twitter page on
a regular basis.

First, I would like to wish you and your loved ones
all the best for 2009!

Here in Montreal we are hunkered down in the middle of
a typical mid-winter deep freeze. I have to say that
we Canadians are pretty "strange" about winter. Each year
when it happens it's like it never happened before,
and "this one" is always the worst we've ever seen.

We must be a nation in true denial! That is, if you use
my definition of "denial", which is;

"Doing the same thing over and over and over again,
each time expecting a different result".

Last weekend I actually went out ice skating on the
St. Lawrence River with a friend. It was the first
time I've done that in about 15 years so I was pleasantly
surprised when I managed to charge around on my
skates for more than an hour without falling once!
I'll thank my summer roller-blading practice for that!

This month's blog post is a new article I have just
written about the most common errors I see when people
submit letters to me for editing. I've titled it,
"Letter Writing - The 7 Deadly Sins".
